PS 40 is a beautifully diverse community hailing from various racial, ethnic, language and belief backgrounds. We are dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing learning environment. It is our goal to provide high quality teaching and differentiated learning to stimulate critical thinking to prepare successful digital citizens who are college-bound, and career ready leaders of tomorrow.
Our Mission
PS 40 is committed to providing scholars with technology based engaging, rigorous standards aligned learning opportunities that promotes critical thinking, equity for all learners, and building teacher capacity through high quality professional learning on questioning and behavioral supports to improve their instructional and social emotional practices to yield increased teacher growth which will result in scholars who are digitally literate on numerous platforms, successfully prepared for college and careers, in an environment where they are supported by parents, faculty, and community based organizations.
